What a real COA includes
- Sample identification — product name, lot number (must match the vial label)
- Test methods — RP-HPLC, ESI-MS, kinetic LAL
- Results — purity percentage, observed mass vs. theoretical mass, endotoxin units per mg
- Date of analysis and authorized signature
- The raw chromatogram / spectrum where possible
Red flags
- A COA that's a marketing PDF with no chromatogram attached
- Lot numbers that don't appear on the vial or are missing entirely
- The same COA reused across multiple batches
- Purity reported without a method specified
